No Matter Where You Go There You Are – A film screening
The word globalization has become a common term in our vocabulary. But what does the globalized world exactly look like? The impression of a growing borderless, united world is at odds with the reality of it. This film essay explores shifting national identities in the globalizing world and questions increasingly porous binaries such as urban/rural, local/transnational, as well as new media, communication technologies, virtual worlds, non-places and daily life.
The film is part of No Matter Where You Go, an ongoing media arts project that examines the process of globalization and reflects on its effects on the contemporary world. Created in 2015 by Pedro Ferreira and Assunta Alegiani, it crosses and combines different analogue and digital media. So far it includes a feature documentary film, a self-published zine series, video installations and an AV performance.
